Edifix Happenings and How-Tos

  • Updates to the Edifix API
    October 19, 2020 »

We've just released an updated version of our Edifix API!

  • A deep dive on DOIs
    September 17, 2020 »

Edifix has been linking to Crossref since before Edifix existed—it’s a core element of our eXtyles reference processing, on which Edifix is based. Now we’ve extended our Crossref linking to not only better handle data citations but also improve how Edifix verifies DOIs for all reference types.

  • Bring on the data citations!
    September 10, 2020 »

In a recent blog post, we talked about the process of building preprint citation handling into Edifix. But that’s not all we’ve been working on!

Starting in September 2020, you’ll see two new behaviors in Edifix processing and Crossref linking: first, Edifix can now parse data citations; and, second, we’ve updated and improved how Edifix verifies DOIs.

  • New to Edifix: Preprint Citation Parsing
    June 17, 2020 »

Has COVID-19 caused an explosion in preprint citations in your reference lists? That’s certainly what we’ve been seeing in COVID-related articles!

Starting now, Edifix parses references to preprints and returns DOIs for those that have a DOI deposited with Crossref.

    May 11, 2020 »

  • Edifix and the University Press
    January 22, 2020 »

If there’s one thing university presses know well, it’s the challenges of long reference lists and bibliographies. Will the author follow your painstakingly compiled guidelines, or will they just use the style they like best (or some bewildering mixture of styles)? If an author uses reference management software, will they remember to proofread the results before submitting their manuscript, or will you get dozens of non-standard sources shoehorned into a template meant for journal articles? You know from experience that almost every bibliography contains inaccuracies, transcription errors, and duplications; will you have the time and resources to catch them all?
